COVID -19 UPDATE

We are temporarily closed due to the ongoing situation regarding the current Coronavirus (COVID -19) pandemic. Due to the close contact with clients that is involved in this industry, the Government has announced that hairdressing, beauty and barber salons must remain closed until 4th July, at the earliest. In our view, this is the right thing to do, as the safety of our clients and staff, is of paramount importance. When we are allowed to reopen, the running of the business will be slightly different, while social distancing rules are still in place. Below, you can read the Infection Prevention & Control Policy, that we will be moving forward with. We will update further, if and when, we receive any more information from the Government. Until then, stay safe and we will hopefully see you all very soon.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

For

VANITY BEAUTY BAR

All of us have been affected by the Coronavirus (COVID -19) pandemic and we have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been shut, we have completed the Coronavirus

(COVID -19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

APPOINTMENT BOOKING

If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of COVID -19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or swap to another therapist (treatment depending). We will only allow walk in clients if we have no other clients in the salon, we will ask walk in clients to come back at a later time if we do have clients already, we won’t allow walk in clients to wait in the salon.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVID -19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

VISITING THE SALON

For your safety, and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving and we may have to ask you to wait outside. Also, please come to your appointment alone. We don’t want any more people in the salon than absolutely necessary. We will NOT have a waiting area in the salon.

We will not have items such as magazines available, nor will be be offering any refreshments during your treatment. The toilet will also be out of use during this time.

We will increase the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc are wiped clean, using disinfectant products between each and every client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible, we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use, in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have alcohol based hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon. We will be providing clients with disposable masks/gloves/gowns where necessary (treatment depending).

Please don’t be surprised or upset that we will be using/wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment, which may look clinical or even over the top. This may include disposable masks, visors, aprons and gloves, where appropriate.

We will also be using disposable towels and bed/couch covers in the salon. All disposable items will be bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.

OUR TREATMENTS

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide most of these safely, implementing the use of PPE. For the time being, we wont be offering any holistic treatments or semi permanent lashes, we apologise for any inconvenience and we hope we can offer these again asap.

DURING YOUR TREATMENT

We understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

In order to avoid handling of cash, we would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card where possible.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and we will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
